Before you can start getting excited about hitting the superclubs and beaches of Majorca you're going to need to deal with some practicalities - first off, how are you going to get there? We suggest an areoplane, and you're in luck as a number of major carriers now have regular low cost and Cheap flights to Majorca from UK airports. The trick to getting a cheap Majorca flight as with most budget airlines is book early, really as early as possible and you will find cheaper flights at more convenient times. As a general guideline we'd say book your flights at least 3-4 months in advance.

Getting to Majorca is pretty easy - almost all the budget airlines fight to Palma de Mallorca.  It is believed that during the height of the holiday season, Palma airport is the busiest airport in the world - a plane a minute taking off or landing.  Well it shows you how wonderful the island is - so many things for so many people. An efficient system of buses connects Palma to all the main towns in Mallorca, and there are also number of more local routes. Most buses out of Palma leave from the Placa d'Espanya and you can pick up a timetable from the tourist information kiosk on the square. Most services operate at a reduced level from Nov. to Apr.  It is worth buying a (Bono Bus) - like a travel card for buses, which can be used on most buses within Palma.

Taxis can be hired at ranks (indicated by a blue square with a 'T'), on the street (by flagging down those with a green light), or at hotels.
They are good value within Palma but expensive over long distances. A list of tariffs is displayed at taxi ranks.  Your hotel receptionist can also help you to call a taxi. Travellers on scheduled (no-frill) or chartered flights to Majorca should not expect much in the way of luxury. It takes just over two hours to fly to Palma from London, and carriers do not usually feel obliged to offer great amounts of legroom and food or drink. If you want to combine your trip to the island with some time on the Spanish mainland, Iberia offer flights to Majorca from various Spanish locations (Seville, Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante and Bilbao). Furthermore, they will allow you to fly into one Balearic Island and out of a different one, should you fancy a bit of island-hopping
