The picturesque Puerto Pollensa lies on the northern part of Mallorca.
The Puerto Pollensa Bay is a fine sanded necklace, the old Roman Town inland is its clasp. You will always find a quieter spot there, even in August. Every need is catered for in the colourful bustling town shops, bars, restaurants and markets. Puerto Pollensa resort is the ideal base for both active and relaxing holidays. Sun worshippers enjoy the pine-lined sandy beaches and clear waters during the day, and indulge in the social sport of "people-watching" from one of the many cafes on the promenade during the long balmy evenings. Puerto Pollensa is the jewel in the crown of Mallorca. |

It's lovely setting and old world charm makes it a favourite amongst holiday makers. As the Puerto Rico in Cran Canaria, in Puerto Pollensa life revolves around it's fabulous sandy beaches, the harbour and the open-air cafés. It is particularly popular amongst families as much of this Mallorca resort is pedestrianised and, of course, the locals welcome children wherever you go. The Puerto Pollensa is set against the stunning backdrop of the Sierra de Tramuntana, is an ideal base for both active and relaxing holidays. Sun worshippers can enjoy the famous pine lined sandy, child safe beaches during the day and spend the evenings at one of the many restaurants along the promenade watching the world go by. |
There are two things that make Puerto Pollensa. The first is its setting, the horseshoe-shaped bay with its wide, sandy beach, sits against the blue-black Tramuntana mountains. Its pine-tree shaded promenade, running along the northern stretch of the beach, is the second. Apart from its obvious attractions of shops, cafes and hotels, it is a wonderful spot to take part in thepaseo, the evening stroll.
Puerto Pollensa is favoured for families and couples, its calm waters are ideal for children and the sands are soft and white. Much
of the resort is pedestrianised too. Not the place for riotous nightlife, revellers would find Alcudia better for that than the Puerto Pollensa |
The bay of Puerto Pollensa is a fantastic location to experience all varieties of water sports. The options are endless, from wind surfing to sailing and scuba diving to snorkelling. Enjoy a leisurely walk down to the beach facing south of the marina and enjoy the breath-taking views on offer. If you're not looking for high-energy activities, the why not enjoy a lazy afternoon yacht sailing, where you can just sit back and relax. Puerto Pollensa also boasts many little tourist shops located across the resort. These may consist of traditional gift shops to cafes, restaurants and ice cream parlours, where you can enjoy experience of Puerto Pollensa life. |
Just to the north of Puerto Pollensa lies the small holiday resort of Cala San Vicente, famed for its beautiful cove beach with clear translucent waters. Here you will find a nice selection of shops, cafes, delightful local restaurants and a number a quality Spain hotels. This area will appeal to those looking for a relaxing holiday but with much more available just down the road if required. Nearby Formentor is one of Mallorca's most beautiful locations. Puerto Pollensa offers lots of activities and entertainment along the coast with lots of beaches, restaurants, bars and nightlife. If you're looking for a more laid back Majorcan holiday, off the beaten track there is much to explore, beautiful old farmhouses or fincas set in unspoiled countryside with pine trees, almond groves, citrus groves and the white-washed villages offer a glimpse of an almost untouched way of life. |
